Chinese Ambassador to The Bahamas Yan Jiarong Meets with Chairman of The Bahamas Public Parks and Public Beaches Authority and Jointly Meets the Press
On 6 August 2026, H.E. Yan Jiarong, Chinese Ambassador to The Bahamas, met with the Hon. Jamahl Strachan, Chairman of the Bahamas Public Parks and Public Beaches Authority, and jointly met the press. Bahamian mainstream media, including ZNS, Eyewitness News, Our News, the Tribune and the Nassau Guardian were on site to cover the event.

Ambassador Yan said that The Bahamas is a shining jewel of the Atlantic, its parks and beaches are valuable national assets and an important hallmark of the tourism industry. The Authority has played an important role in improving recreational spaces for the Bahamian people and promoting tourism. China stands ready to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with The Bahamas in the development and management of public parks and public beaches, landscape beautification and environmental protection, and to further advance China-Bahamas friendly cooperation.

Mr. Strachan spoke highly of the friendly relations between The Bahamas and China and expressed the Authority's readiness to further strengthen exchanges and cooperation with China to create more beautiful, safer and more welcoming public spaces.
Established in 2014, the Bahamas Public Parks and Public Beaches Authority is responsible for the overall planning, construction, management and maintenance of more than 250 public parks and public beaches across The Bahamas.
